In 2016, US diplomatic personnel stationed in Cuba began complaining of mysterious ailments, including nausea, headaches, and ear problems. The cause of the mysterious “Havana syndrome” was never fully understood, but further research pointed to the possible use of a sonic or directed energy attack by some unknown state actor.
Fast forward to 2019 and the same types of attacks began happening on US soil. In one instance a White House official in Virginia became sick while walking her dog. And in another late last year, a National Security Council official got sick on the grounds of the White House.
As usual, while things of this level of importance were occurring, most Americans were distracted by other issues. And they decided to boot the guy out of the White House who would have been most likely to tackle these attacks head on.
Now the Biden White House has to try to make sense of these potential attacks. And as usual, it is trotting out its favorite bogeyman: Russia. The story in the mainstream media is that Russia’s GRU intelligence agency is suspected to be behind these attacks. While that certainly could be the case, it sounds just a bit implausible.
We know of attacks that have occurred in Havana, China, Miami, and now Washington, DC. While Russia could be behind the attacks, you would have to imagine that the Chinese wouldn’t take too kindly to the Russians attacking US diplomats on Chinese soil. It could have been the Cubans, who have embassies in both Beijing and DC. Or it could have been the Chinese.
At the end of the day, it’s hard to say who is behind these suspected attacks. But the government needs to get its butt in gear and figure out who is behind them rather than continue the fake narrative that “white supremacists” are the greatest security threat to this country. If the White House continues to focus on suppressing conservatives and persecuting domestic political enemies, it will only ensure that foreign enemies have free rein to do as they please here in the US.
